It builds editorial and organisational capacity via fellowships, workshops, coaching, networking and advice, and by raising philanthropic funding for member investigative journalism centres.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Current member centres are based in Namibia, Botswana, Zambia, Malawi, eSwatini, Lesotho and South Africa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is a position entailing <strong>great responsibility and reward<\/strong>. You will lead the Hub alongside a co-managing partner responsible for editorial matters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Purpose: <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Provide strategic leadership to the Hub in consultation with your co-managing partner and the board <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Lead and manage the Hub financially and administratively <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Lead and manage the Hub\u2019s sustainability efforts <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Implement activities.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Key deliverables: <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Grow the Hub and its range of service offerings\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Manage the Hub operationally: compliance, finances, etc<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Build and manage stakeholder relationships\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Fundraise for the Hub and member centres\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Evaluate funding applications from member centres and disburse grants to them\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Help arrange fellowships, workshops etc\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Provide advisory support \u2013 compliance, financial, sustainability, etc\u00a0\u2014\u00a0to member centres.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>The successful applicant must:\u00ad <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Demonstrate relevant non-profit and\/or media sector experience in roles with similar levels of responsibility <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Be able to manage a company financially and have the necessary accounting and compliance literacy <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Be a self-motivator <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Be a good communicator<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Attributes that will be a plus:<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Knowledge of the political economy and media landscape of Southern Africa <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Online and tech savvy<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The successful applicant will report to the Hub\u2019s board, which consists of high-powered academic, media and legal personalities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Competitive remuneration<\/strong> is offered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Hub is committed to transformation.
